Pours a sturdy black with a thin head and minimal lacing. Not as syrupy as other Russian imperials. Smell is roasty with big malt. Taste is smooth with a slight acidic finish. Changes slightly as it warms, more chocolate comes through. Not getting much if any coffee. Less sweet than most treated RIS. A very solid robust offering from a great new brewery. Doesn't quite compete with the CCB imperial stouts but pretty damn good and maybe even a little too drinkable at 11%. Worth the $. Recommend.

Pours an opaque dark brown almost black like oil with similar viscosity and khaki colored head. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, and a little vanilla on the nose; follows onto the palate. Full bodied, smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with coffee and roast.
