Road Warriors World Walking Team

My fellow veterans, do you like to walk? Do you remember that it is one of the best, most simple things that you can do to improve your health, lengthen your life, and keep your strength? If you do, I am starting this group for you. It matters not where you live or work, or where you have served; we all know teamwork and support better than most, and should keep at it ... every single day of our lives ... and for each other. I've named the group ‘Road Warriors’ for those reasons. Of course it is open to *anyone* who wants to make walks every day the cornerstone of daily life. Veterans, veterans' family members, and anyone else, for that matter, who wants to engage in dual support with vets for our daily walking-and-talking lives. Thank you for being here! I use (and recommend) Strava GPS as the best app in support of walking, running, cycling, and health habits related to all. If you want more complex tools related to training, there is another version called Strava Summit. Strava is available worldwide. Its website is here: https://strava.com. It is *extremely* effective, and cost-effective, in what it wants to do for *you.* I'm hoping that those who become Minds.com ‘road warriors’ will recognize Strava as a kind of social phone tool that we can use to encourage and support each other ... peer to peer ... whenever teamwork for health, life, and strength is needed. If you're looking for an alternative to Strava that focuses on *steps* (per walk, or day) *and* miles walked, here's your best choice. StepUp is free, downloadable (for phone use) on both Android and iOS, and doesn't bug you with ads: http://www.theStepUpapp.com/. Where to walk? Start here: https://www.traillink.com/activity/walking-trails/
Type: All

I ran across this unexpectedly this morning. There must be a reason why .... This is, to me, *motivation.* Motivation for me to take my simple walks, and to help others do the same. Can this be a foundation for all of us? • • • #walks #minds #hikers #walking #hope • • • https://hopetowalk.org/
