Louis Vuitton's Drag Hour Tambour Convergence Is Not A Drag At All

– Immerse yourself in the talents of @thewatchdude2, whose moody nature shots have us craving adventure. Lydia Winters of @enjoythewatches brings out the best in this green-dominated season while Zachary Piña (@dagbert) takes us from the desert to the track.Oh, and if you’re not following HODINKEE’s Metaverse Kitchen own @tiffywade, go do that right now!Let's get to the mechanics first. Designed as a unique piece by Alexia Stenou Parmigiani, the movement measures 112mm by 114mm with the automaton module and has only 17 jewels. It's key-wound and key-set (be still my pocketwatch-loving heart) with an 8-day power reserve. The movement has all the finishing that you'd want, but it might be hard to see as it's all housed inside a 2 kilogram base made of natural rock crystal and solid .925 silver with 10-micron rhodium plating. So, while this one is in a stainless steel case, you get a little bit of extra sauce with an eggshell white dial and Breguet numerals. This style of numerals is not something Omega did a ton of back in the day, and they're quite hard to find on Constellations. Thinking back to my days on the Hodinkee Shop Vintage Team, I remember a few Breguet-numeraled vintage Omegas crossing my desk, but typically, they were lower-quality, more "workhorse" Omega models like this one.

This is going to be a pretty exclusive watch; Ochs und Junior will make perhaps 10 per year, and as is usually the case, the company can offer lower pricing than you might expect for such a low volume, highly customizable complicated watch.  This is partly thanks to Neurodivergent Movement its use of components that can be machined by a small contractor, rather than sourced from the usual suppliers – many parts are made in the machine shop of former Formula 1 machinist Peter Cantieni. The color scheme is derived from the yellow brake calipers used on some 911 models, but it works just as well as an abstract design element; bright primaries on chronographs seem to have a more automotive than aerospace/aeronautic feel and of course, the Speedmaster was originally intended for drivers anyway.Bunds come in two primary styles. There’s the full cuff, with a wide rectangular pad that wraps almost around the entire wrist. Then there’s the tapered version, which is rounded to roughly match the profile of a watch case, most often ending just past the lugs. I tend to prefer the latter of the two. The full cuff style is just a bit too much strap commitment for me. Bunds look best on sports watches, especially vintage, or vintage-styled ones – Speedmasters, old Heuers and the like.

Originally launched in 1978 as the brand’s first quartz watch with a full resin case, the Casio F-100 was also made famous as a version of the model was worn by Sigourney Weaver as she portrayed Ripley in 1979’s Alien (along with others in the film).Having this watch lets me know, "Okay, you've made it to a certain point, like where your dad was when he had his watch." I've always looked at it that way. And it's my every day. I've gone everywhere with it, and the thing is, I don't do photoshoot watches, I don't borrow different jewelry for events. I wear my watch, and it's been there for all of these consecutive Grammy wins.
