Description
Water, after the air, is the most important asset for the preservation of life. Overconsumption and contamination of drinking water leads to water scarcity. We will refer to the role of water for the human organism, its properties, its distribution to the planet in its use and misuse.
Aims
• Students will become environmentally aware. They will investigate, navigate in the internet, read, collaborate with their fellow students, discuss and develop critical thinking. • Students will learn about the water circle, the use of water and the human activities related to water management. • They will find out the consequences of polluted water on the ecosystem and human health. • They will raise environmental awareness. • They will be careful with their ecological footprint.

Students will split in groups of 4 using Team up tool. They will collaborate to search for info about the use of water and the significance of clear water. They will observe Earth and climate change using Cyclone Centre. They will navigate into the internet to make students aware of the importance of water for the development of civilization from antiquity to the present day. To understand the importance of water management and the risks of water scarcity for all beings. To learn that natural resources are not inexhaustible. Watch an awareness video.

Discuss with your team about weather and climate change, using the GeoTag-X Pilot Project. Discuss with the other teams the results of your investigation. What did you learn? How this knowledge affects your behavior to the use of water? Use LEO network to learn about the climate change topics and share your founding with your team.

Make an experiment measuring the pH of the water you drink. Imagine a story of the journey of a drop and write a story using Buncee web tool. Share your weather observations using The Weather Observations Website (WOW). How the climate change is causing extreme weather conditions?

Use Powtoon and create a video ”8 Ways to save water”. Make a booklet about the rational water management. Create a Business Model concerning the rational water management p.e. household biological cleaning using Lean Canvas https://canvanizer.com/new/lean-canvas. Can you imagine the future of our fragile planet with polluted water? Make a poster with the photos. Collaborate and make a presentation on your research findings and present it to your school. Upload it to the school web page. Evaluation In the end my students evaluate the project and their participation in it for feedback. We discuss what they have learned and how will they use this knowledge in the future. They review their classmates and their classmates review them. One group evaluates the other. I have created three samples of evaluation: Collaborative Work Skills Using Rubrics http://rubistar.4teachers.org/index.php?screen=ShowRubric&rubric_id=2633390& , Assessing my PBL "Water, Source of Life" and Self-evaluation using Google forms.
