Read Watch Listen10watch the scene of impact of a meteorites in "deep impact films"
-
Discuss10Do you think this could happens in reality?
-
Read Watch Listen10The students will be divided into 5 groups each, the scenario will be read to students, each group has the scenario with data.
-
Investigate25The students had to calculate the mass of the asteroid and time needed to reach the earth. Moreover, they have to decide which kind of STEM professional had to be included in this group and why they are needed additional data needed: The asteroid is traveling at an average speed of 25 km/sec. Based on a distance of 3.5 billion km from Earth, when will the asteroid hit Earth? Express your answer in days.
-
Discuss10comparison of students results and idea, in particular about the type of STEM professional needed. We decide which are the most important STEM professional needed in this type of work.
