A woman who was trapped under a vehicle following a crash in Monrovia over the weekend has died at a hospital, police said.

The driver involved in the crash was turning left from southbound Myrtle Avenue onto eastbound Foothill Boulevard at about 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, Monrovia police said in a news release. Witnesses reported that the vehicle was moving between 5-10 mph when it hit a woman in her late 60s in a crosswalk.

The pedestrian was pinned beneath the vehicle, and firefighters had to use specialized equipment to lift it off of her. She was taken to a hospital, where she died Saturday as a result of her injuries.

Her identity was withheld pending notification of her relatives. Further information was not released about the crash, which remains under investigation.
