Description
A mixed ability class of 9-10 year olds who are learning English as a foreign language. Students will practice past simple tense and new vocabulary through listening, speaking, reading and writing activities. They will write a story at the end of the topic.

    Ask students if dinosaurs really exist today. Discuss when they lived, why they became extinct, what would happen if dinosaurs existed today. Teacher leads the discussion and makes sure to model past simple tense is used.

    In groups they make an A4 poster about dinosaurs with all the info that was discussed as a class. Remind them that they should use past tense verbs. If there is extra time, they can present posters to their peers. Teacher monitors work.
