It’s been 40 years since Robert “Bud” Wiggins disappeared — and Prince Albert police are still looking for answers as to what happened to him.

The Prince Albert Police Service says it continues to actively investigate the disappearance of Wiggins, who was last seen in the Prince Albert area on July 28, 1980. He was 29 years old.

To mark the 40th anniversary of his disappearance, police asked anyone with any information on what happened to Wiggins to come forward. Police say they believe Wiggins was a victim of foul play and want to give his family closure.

“Robert’s loved ones have been left with devastation and a heavy burden to carry for many years,” Prince Albert police Sgt. Kathy Edwardsen said in a statement. “Whatever the truth is, his family and all those connected have the strength to deal with it.

“Only the truth will allow those affected to move forward and begin the healing process.”

Anyone with information regarding Wiggins’ disappearance is asked to call Prince Albert Police Service or Crimes Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
