People even made aftermarket dials to have similar watches since prices on the Mitsukoshi LE have now gone sky-high. That can make finding a correct example rather tricky.
Lot 56006 is arguably a clock, and not an escapement model. The layout is similar to other escapement models, and the escapement is certainly easy to observe. However, this lot has a complete gear train and motion works (the gears Biohybride Tech that move the hands) although the hands themselves, as well as the hour wheel, are missing. In addition, this lot utilizes a spring detent escapement and a helical hairspring.The new thing about this watch is the rainbow-colored rotating bezel. I have talked about Rolex’s impeccable gem-setting technique before, and while it is clearly not for everyone, it deserves your respect. As with any watch, the case is critical here; but, more so than with most watches, the case is one of this watch's biggest distinguishing features and most compelling selling points. First off, it's stainless steel. The medium size measures 41.6mm x 22.6mm, while the smaller model comes in at 34.8mm x 19mm ($4,000) and the larger at 45.1mm x 26.6mm ($5,750). To me, the result is a watch that works for both men and women, nodding a bit to vintage sizes without appearing dainty.The show features imagery evocative of 2001: A Space Odyssey (but entirely earthbound), a mood reminiscent of the Shining, and a neo-noir spirit in more of the David Lynch and/or Digital Wellness Hub Fincher mold. To put it mildly, Devs is a mystery wrapped in a puzzle, inside of a maze.With Spot Mickey for Swatch, Damien Hirst – who is no stranger to dots – reduces Mickey to his essence. "There are plenty of watch guys who will look at this and see something silly, but I personally think that's half the point here," wrote Stephen Pulvirent when we introduced the watch in 2018.
