The 2020 Emmys was a night to remember, with the awards being held virtually for the first time ever, and Schitt’s Creek sweeping up seven awards in a row.

Dan Levy’s comedy emerged early on as the star of the evening, with himself and the show’s lead stars Catherine O’Hara and Eugene Levy among those to secure wins.

Normal People’s Paul Mescal lost out to I Know This Much Is True star Mark Ruffalo in the Best Actor in a drama category, while Euphoria’s Zendaya beat The Crown’s Olivia Colman to win Best Actress.

The 2020 Emmys were hosted virtually for the first time in the award show’s 72-year history.

Jimmy Kimmel was back on hosting duties for the third time. The ceremony was partially distanced, with most nominees tuning in remotely with trophies being delivered straight to their homes.

Kimmel, however, hosted from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles – in front of a minimal audience, of course. He was joined by occasional in-person contributors, such as Jennifer Aniston and Tracee Ellis Ross.
