A man by the name of Frederic Robert can be credited for the creation of the Ploprof, among a number of other "Professional" models like the Omega Flightmaster and Seamaster 120 "Big Blue" chronograph. He joined Omega in 1967 as an advisor after successfully growing the company Aquastar, which he founded and owned. This is a workhorse automatic movement but one that lacks a little bit in terms of power reserve, with only 38 hours to keep you going. This might be a concern when you're talking about a calendar watch that you really don't want to go through the headache of setting if you don't have to.
