Ever since I was a little kid, I've always loved all types of animals. I was obsessed, especially with dinosaurs, and that's probably why my obsession started with reptiles. When I was just around three years old, my grandfather gave me among plenty of other animals, Tank the now famous sulcata tortoise. My grandpa had a big five-acre farm with lots of different types of farm animals and my very own reptile room! I was living my dream but unfortunately in 2009 when I was 9 years old we lost the farm and all the animals with it. I was lucky enough to keep Tank.
At 16 years old I decided to get him a girlfriend named Luna. They had babies in the summer of 2018 and I started Shadow’s Reptiles! I created social media accounts and gained over a million followers from 2019-2020. With all the attention I started rescuing all types of animals people called in to rehome. I quickly got overwhelmed by social media and went into the shadows, pun intended, took a long break from social media, and focused on rescuing animals full time.
