According to We Got This Covered, the idea for a spin-off series focusing on Albus Dumbledore’s younger years is being considered at the streaming service.

With the reports still yet to be confirmed, if they are true, it is unlikely that the series would be coming to screens anytime soon.

However, fans will see Law reprise his role as the Hogwarts headmaster in the forthcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film which will be the third instalment in the franchise. The actor first appeared as Dumbledore in the second film, The Crimes of Grindelwald.

Rumours are circulating that the potential series would focus on Dumbledore’s years between the events of Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter.

We Got This Covered backed up their sources on the subject, stating that they are “the same ones that told us the Snyder Cut of Justice League and a Justice League Dark Show would both be heading to the streaming service months before either was announced”.

Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne recently confirmed that shooting for the third film was back underway after a long delay due to pandemic-related filming restrictions.

The third movie may decide the franchise’s fate after the 2018 second instalment was poorly received by both critics and audiences. The first film, however, was well-liked when it was released in 2016.
