Description
Working with H.C. Andersen as an artist. We will focus on this life, his fairy tales and his paper cuts. The program will consist of an intro to the pupils and then the students will work in different workshops.
Aims
- The pupils can create a digital photo story - The pupils have a knowledge about the use of storyboards - The pupils can produce and use a storyboard - The pupils can analyse a work of art and they can express their interpretation in different ways - The pupils knows about pictures communicative function and about the relationship between sender and receiver - The pupils know about the symbolism of different colours - The pupils can use colours to create a specific atmosphere - The pupils can produce pictures with more layers

    Intro: The teacher present a PowerPoint show for the pupils. They have to learn about H.C. Andersen's life and career. And also his paper cuts. Show them different paper cuts and let them make up stories by analysing the picture. What do you see in the paper cut? Let also the pupils read about H.C. Andersen on their own.

    The pupils will be presented with a paper cut, and from their interpretation then they have to make up a story. The story have to be made in to a photo story. They may maximum take six pictures and they have to use the app "ComicCam", where they can choose between different filters. Before they go out in groups of four, and take photos, they have to prepare by making a storyboard. Tools: Storyboard (one for each group), Ipads (one for each group), the app "ComicCam"

    Intro to workshops: Make a short introduction to all of the workshops.

    Workshop 1 The pupils have to scan different QR-codes with an ipad. There will be a quiz, a game of Hangman and a game of memory. Here is the goal, that the pupils gets to repeat their knowledge about H.C. Andersen's life and career. There will also be a game, where they have to write little stories to different paper cuts made by H.C. Andersen. Tools: QR-codes linking to learningapps.org + an ipad for each pupil

    Workshop 2 The pupils have to produce their own paper cuts from H.C. Andersen's fairy tales. When they have made their paper cut, they have to glue it on to a coloured background. They have to choose a colour that stresses the atmosphere of the fairy tale and the paper cut. Tools: Scissors, glue, coloured paper, a selection of H.C. Andersen's fairy tales, a description of the meaning of the different colours

    Workshop 3 The pupils have to glue speech bubbles on to others photo stories and write lines. Maybe it will result in a lot of new stories. And it will highlight the relationship between sender and receiver. We will discuss that in the evaluation Tools: different speech bubbles, scissors, glue, copies of the photo stories

    Workshop 5 The pupils have to produce a video portfolio, where they explain what they know about H.C. Andersen. The videos will be uploaded to our Padlet. Tools: Ipad (one for each pupil)

    Workshop 6 The pupils have to write all that they know about H.C. Andersen in a Padlet, that the teacher have created. They can use books and texts about H.C. Andersen, his life and his art. Tools: Books and texts about H.C. Andersen, computers (one for each pupil)

    Waiting-workshop If the pupils are done before time, they have to pick a book about or written by H.C. Andersen. Or they can write a fairytale from their interpretation of a paper cut.
