We had the Defy Inventor, the Defy Fusée Tourbillon, the Defy Double Tourbillon, the Defy Zero G, and of course, the Defy 21 series revealed as a new flagship. So how does the latest edition of the Defy 21 build on what is likely considered an already "extreme" design by most watch collectors?In October of 2009, Cirque du Soleil CEO Guy Laliberté took up his AP on Soyuz TMA-16, destined for the Space Station. To our knowledge, it’s the watch with the highest retail price to have ever been worn in space. That's chump change compared to the 35 million dollar price tag of the trip for 10 days and 21 hours in space. And where the case width has shrunk by 3mm, the lug-to-lug is more than 5mm shorter than on the 42mm model (from 52.4mm to 47mm). For a watch that was often noted as being quite long in the case – too long for my wrist – this change might be the secret to making this beautiful design suit a wider range of wrists.
