My favourite object
60 minutes)
-
Read Watch Listen104Pupils of both countries watch some short videos selected by the teachers (it is better if they are real but adapted to their level) in which appear a person describing the features and qualities of an object or product. Then, they reflect on how the TV advertisments are, what kind of information they offer, etc.
-
Discuss104Pupils, using the chat in twinspace or skipe, have to discuss and to choose an object they like the best because it is funny, useful, curious, odd, etc. They have also the posibility of inventing and designing a new object or fantastic product.
-
Investigate204Using the Internet and the tablets, pupils have to look for information about this object or product taking notes about the most relevant characteristics. If they have invented it they also have to decide their characteristics and uses.
-
Produce204In order to compile all the information and to show it later, they have to take a picture of the object (or a picture of a drawing if it is not real) with the tablet. Then, pupils will add using the Skitch app, the most relevant adjectives and key words or ideas useful to describe the object. They may use the dictionary for new words.

The TV advertisement
60 minutes)
-
Read Watch Listen104The children read some advertisements about products (they could be the transcription of the videos of the first session). While reading they have to underline the adjectives used. In a second reading they have to discover the structure of the text coloring the paragraphs giving them a name, for example: introducing oneself, description of the object, advantages, uses, prize, etc.
-
Collaborate20The children have to make a similar written draft about the content of the advertisement trying to include the adjectives and ideas of the Skitch of the previous session. If it is not possible to work online at the same time, pupils may send to their partners of the other country an email with thier decissions.
-
Practice10Before making the Tellagami, they have to read aloud the short advertisement to practice pronunciation and intonation with the help of the teacher.
-
Produce10They share out the different parts of the TV ad and record it using the Tellagami app. They make two Tellagamis, one for each TV presenter. Of course the background is the photograph of the product, they may add ambient music.
-
Read Watch Listen104Then some volunteers, using skipe, show to the rest the Tellagami as example. In the following session the other groups present their products. After this, it is very motivating to decide which is the most convicing advertisement reflecting on the reasons. In adition to this, pupils make a coevaluation using a rubric.
