I usually have a very high credit score. In the last few years, I have missed several payments due to an illness. My credit score is now only 544 points. I am no longer sick and have been able to work about 37 hours a week. All of my accounts are current now. I would really like to take out a small loan to buy a car in the price range of about $4,000-$5,000. I have already saved up about $2,500, so I can pay about half of the cost up front. Could anyone suggest a place apart from a car dealership that would be likely to offer a loan to someone with my credit? I applied online and recieved an offer from roadloans.com, but the minimum amount they will let me borrow is way over the amount that I have budgeted for a car ($7,000 if I pay the $2,000 upfront, which would mean a $9,000 car) I also talked to someone at a car dealership, and they said that they can usually get a loan for almost anyone, but I didn’t find a car that I liked at that dealership. I would much rather apply for and recieve a loan before going to the car dealership. it was really embarrassing, too. Thank you.

I’m located in Atlanta GA. The payment is due this week, and I cannot make it. The car dealership is granting me only till the 31st (which is about 13 calendar days from now). Uneblievably, I get my check just one day after that, and this is when they’ll cut the car off with the GPS. Being a buy here pay here dealer, they usually only allow 5 days grace period, so in other words, they’re actually cutting me a break. But I didn’t realize that my check date was on the 14th day. I know that in order to do that, I’ll have to re-affirm the debt, which basically means to star back paying the car loan…I clearly understand this.
