Return to Invoice Insurance Advice Please

Looking for some advice on Return to Invoice Insurance.

My car insurance doesn't pay out invoice value like some, so have to go for RTI.

I'm financing around 77% of the car, so don't see the value of the car being less than what is outstanding on finance for 4 years.

Looking for some advice on the following as i've never had a new car before.

Combined Return to Invoice & Finance Gap Insurance

In the event of your vehicle being stolen or written off, your Motor Insurance Company will pay out what your vehicle is worth at the time of the event potentially leaving you with a shortfall from what you originally paid for your Nissan GTR Coupe.

Our Combined Gap Insurance will bridge the gap between what your Motor Insurers payout back to the Original Invoice Price or Balance Outstanding on your finance agreement; whichever is the greater shortfall.

Quote

4 year cover £25K claim limit* = A one off payment of £259.00

(*The amount the gap insurers will pay out up to in the event of a claim)

Does this look a good deal?

If i've missed out any important info, to help make a comparison, please let me know

Ta

Oh yeh....(i knew there was a reason for me posting here)....thanks.

Will ask for the wording of the policy and do a detailed comparison over the weekend. I get the car Tuesday, so plenty of time.

Thank you once again!

Don't believe any BS the dealer might give you about needed to take out GAP before leaving the dealership, you have plenty of time after collection to make a decision, in fact that site gives you 102 days, not that you'd want to risk it for that long.

I've not even asked the dealer about RTI insurance to be honest.

I'm just paranoid, a low loader turns up and nicks it while i'm not at home! So won't be leaving RTI/GAP insurance till after i get it.

Is that car's worth £50k+ or they only cover up to £50k worth of 'gap' ?

EDIT: Just tried it - only vehicles worth up to £50k Shame 'cos they are pretty competitive

imagine how good it would feel if you write if off three years down the line (without injury of course), you'd probably be bored of if by then, then you get the cash to buy a brand new one (if you want)all over again instead of having to make do.

for the record I have RTI at £8.25 a month for up to a £15k difference so your offer looks good value
