CJPME can help you get trained to meet your MP
 Dear friends, Part of CJPME's mission is to empower Canadians to be effective advocates for justice and peace in the Middle East. Don't doubt that you yourself can be an influencer of Canadian foreign policy. In August, the United Church of Canada (UCC) voted to support a boycott of Israeli settlement products. CJPME wants to show that this move is just the "tip of the iceberg" and that many Canadians oppose illegal Israeli "settlement" expansion. But we need your help to carry this message to Parliament! Please consider helping in one of two ways: - Join CJPME's delegation to Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 4th.
- Meet your MP locally.
Each of these options is described below:
- Join CJPME's delegation to Parliament Hill on Thursday, October 4th. CJPME is organizing a visit to Parliament Hill in Ottawa to meet MPs on Oct. 4th. As a delegate, you will be trained on our policy material, and put on a team of delegates to meet with MPs. To participate, please follow these simple steps:
- Become a CJPME member. Membership is $40 for non-students and $20 for students. Click here to become a member online or call us at 438-380-5410 to do it over the phone.
- Secure your place at the training. Training sessions will be held in Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa. See the maps below for all the details on the trainings. If you're able to attend, please email us to reserve your place, or call us at 438-380-5410.
- Meet your MP locally. Your Member of Parliament is always available to meet with his/her constituency when in his/her riding. Wherever you are in Canada, please ask to meet your MP, and help him/her understand the issues! Follow these steps:

- Participate in CJPME's online advocacy training session on Thursday, Sept. 27th at 8:30 p.m. ET. CJPME has scheduled an online training session for those of you who can't make it to the in-person sessions. We will provide all the policy materials that you might need when meeting with your MP, as well as guides and hints to make sure you're comfortable every step of the way. Please email us to subscribe to the training, or call us at 438-380-5410. An email will be sent to all participants with the training access instructions.
- Call your MP and ask for a meeting!
Other important details on the CJPME trainings:
As a starter, delegates are asked to print and skim the two following documents: A binder of training materials will be provided at the training itself. Delegates will also get training in practical strategies and mechanics for advocating with MPs. The training sessions will be provided in English. However, advocacy materials will be available in French for French-speaking participants. Please note that successful completion of the full training, and recommendation by the trainer, is a pre-requisite to participation in CJPME's delegation to Ottawa.

Quelques d�tails importants sur les formations de CJPMO : En guise d'introduction, les d�l�gu�s sont invit�s � imprimer et passer en revue les deux documents suivants : Un cartable de formation vous sera remis � la s�ance elle-m�me. Les d�l�gu�s recevront �galement une formation sur les strat�gies pratiques et les m�canismes de sensibilisation aupr�s des d�put�s. Les s�ances de formation seront donn�es en anglais. La documentation sera toutefois disponible en fran�ais pour les d�l�gu�s francophones. Notez que la r�ussite de la formation compl�te et la recommandation du formateur est obligatoire � la participation � la d�l�gation de CJPMO � Ottawa.
