It's a pity that Chris didn't come up with this a few years earlier, and turn it into a bigger full price game with more varied levels, and music. As a straight-to-budget game there's more than enough here though. Slick, well-designed, good difficulty curve, and technically capable. Another example of how vibrant the C64 remained a decade after its launch.

Pretty good shoot 'em up, sort of like a Commando spin-off but with isometric graphics. Small sprites but lots of details and nice FX; the planes are very well-done. Some sections are extremely tough, probably because the game in itself is very short so they had to increase the difficulty level to make it last a bit more; it's basically one long stage. Maybe many different shorter levels and a overall longer game would have been better, but being a budget game released in '92 I guess they deemed it was enough.

This was a really nice surprise from Zepplin Games. I loved this on its release as it oozes playability and the difficulty is just right but just as you start really loving it, its over. What there is is fantastic but its just to damn short. 7 out of 10.

Played the free demo back in the day and remember being impressed by the river effect. The Arnie leading pic could have been a bit better ;D

Difficulty increases too much, absurdly sometimes. Frustrating. But great class product as always.

Spent hours playing this, inching further and further into the game as I went, finding new scenery and enemies to flame up.

A forgotten Chris Butler classic.

Possibly the best Commando-style shoot'em up, at least in terms of playability. Too bad there is no in-game music.

Brilliant game, far superior to the sequal. A real jjust one more try game, has a kind of Goldeneye (N64) thing going where each time you-get-that-little... Bit... Further. Rocket launcher guys were bastiches, though.

This was a class little game! Nice isometric graphics and gameplay with enough addictiveness to go back and play again. Nice one Chris. :)

Commando in an isometric output, but deeper and better in anyway. The only thing missing is a cool Hubbard music !

Great! The best of all commando-like games, in my opinion. Many different environments and enemies do you come across on your way. The passage with the jetfighters is surely the most diffucult part.
I played this game again and again... Very special! 9/10

I think Chris Butler made this in an afternoon...
a tiny game but lots of fun!
Strange output from one of the most technically advanced programmers on the 64.
cool...

Me and my brother would play this for hours just going crazy and shooting everything. He still refers to himself doing an "arnie" when going crazy

I first had the demo. As I didn't have much money I played it over and over again. After a while I got a hacked version of the game wich only had 2 levels. In everyway this was a great game! I would love to see a PC version of this game just like Aufwedersehen Monty.
